Preface

Rotten wood and Silt Mixed Soil(RWSMS)is an specialkind of soft soil which has been found in the foundation of Jiepu expressway of Guangdong province.It has the characteristic of high water ratio,high compressibility and low permeability.Rotten Wood and Silt Mixed Soil distribute broadly in Guangdong province and other provinces. With the change of geological origin and geological environment, the content of rotten wood and the degree of decay in the rotten wood and silt mixed soil is different, which causes the different engineering properties of the rotten wood and silt mixed soil. In order to clarify the relationship here, this paper used more than 100,000 words to describe.So,the study on the engineering properties of Rotten Wood and Silt Mixed Soil has the great significance to guide the construction of other project on the same layer.The main work of the theis is as follows:

With the change of geological origin and geological environment, the content of rotten wood and the degree of decay in the rotten wood and silt mixed soil is different, which causes the different engineering properties of the rotten wood and silt mixed soil. In order to clarify the relationship here, this paper used more than 100,000 words to describe.

1 It is point out the consolidation settlement mechanics of Rotten Wood and Silt Mixed Soil by comparing the composition content,physical and mechanical index of rotten wood with silt’s and analysis the difference on consolidation,compression, secondary consolidation between them.

2 Make up threekinds rotten wood and silt mixed soil which the rotten wood percent respectively are five,forty and seventy.It is respectively represent these circumstances which the rotten wood percent is few, middling and much.The variable law of mechanical properties of threekings rotten wood and silt mixed soil were analyzed by consolidation tests, compression tests and secondary consolidation tests.

3 The transformation of pore water pressure and permeability coefficient of rotten wood and silt mixed soil in consolidation process was analyzed with the handling consolidometer which can measure pore water pressure and permeability coefficient.

4 Educe the strength index by cu-test and cd-test of rotten wood and silt mixed soil which has different rotten wood content.Analyzing the mechanics of strength index and the relationship between strength index and rotten wood content.Contrast the strength index of rotten wood and silt mixed soil with silt’s in this paper too.

5 Analyzing the settlement and stabilization of rotten wood and silt mixed soil by using plaxis,the compute result proved that the parameter which get from indoor test is correct.

6 The settlement law of rotten wood and silt mixed soil was analyzed by using observation data and verify the conclusion which draw from indoor test, It is also conclude the best treating way of rotten wood and silt mixed soil by computing.

Key words: Rotten wood and silt mixed soil; tests; deformation character; strength character; program checking calculation; foundation treatment way;
